it’s (finally) time.

tomorrow morning at 7am (in a few short hours) Lovely, too will open at 1138 West Bryn Mawr in Chicago.

without the love, support, blood, sweat, and (exhausted but mostly happy) tears provided by the following people, this monumental day would not be possible (in no particular order…):

christen, ben, mary, barri, hollyce, gillian, jillian, gillian (yes, there’s three), lindsay, jordan, max, timmy, clay dawg (yes, he’s back!), matt (yup, he’s been back for a while, too… can also be found writing in his Lovely basement office), yenny, adriana + joshua + brian soto (yes, there’s three sotos), kara, iain, carolyn, anthony, belinda, andreas, sarah, tohm, tanner, cody, little dan olson, ranya, juan, hugo, edwin, betsy, mire & fernando (they’re married! an adorable package deal), estella, carlos, yeisy, and nacho.

without each of them, we’d be nowhere.  we’d most certainly not be opening our third location tomorrow.

we will get back to blogging/ tweeting/ letting you know what’s new and happening around Lovely/ B&E/ Lovely, too as soon as possible… 

most importantly, in the meantime, we specifically want to thank all of the above along with a few specifically:

dave: our partner, mentor, friend, and adopted family.  we don’t take you for granted for one second.  to say we’re grateful for you is an understatement.  we love you and thank you for the role you play in our lives.

you have cautiously yet boldly kept a watchful eye over B&E while being our technical and logistical guru at Lovely, too.  a simple thank you is not enough.  you have moved mountains on our behalf both in our presence and in our absence.  we literally wouldn’t be opening Lovely, too tomorrow without your contributions and support.  for that and so much more, we are so so thankful.

Lovely’s Manager

you have balanced managing Lovely while hiring for and opening the front of house at Lovely, too like a champ.  we’ve thrown you a million curve balls and added a *few* things to your to-do list, while booking a record breaking amount of weddings and special events in the meantime… you are an integral part of this family, the glue that holds much of us together.  professionally, you accomplish amazing things on a daily basis.  personally, you make us laugh like almost no one can.  thank you for the organization, quality control, levity, and laughter you bring to our lives.  we have been so comforted to know that Lovely is in your hands while we’re away.

Christen “Bunny” Stutts- Brockman:  

Lovely’s first General Manager as of early this year.

our personal General Manager in life, in general.

you exceed our expectations on a daily basis.  in fact, you set expectations that exceed our expectations.  you are organized, efficient, clever-when-necessary, funny-all-the-time; the hardest worker we’ve ever known.  you make sure everyone around you is taken care of before you take care of you, and we will always chastise you while thanking you for this very rare attribute.  you are wise beyond your years and humble enough to know you still have much to learn.  personally and professionally, you contribute love, support, order, and harmony to our lives and the lives of the Lovely family.  we are eternally grateful for you.
